Get Ready, Get Set, Third Graders Are On The Go! We are racing towards a successful 2017-2018 school
year. Third Graders are learning about our school wide anti-bullying policy, classroom rules, procedures, and the school code of conduct which will help to keep students safe and our classroom and school running smoothly. We are settling into our routines and we are making excellent progress with building classroom community.
In ELA, we are beginning to implement The Daily Five and CAFÉ model to help students develop daily habits of reading, writing, and working independently for a lifetime of literacy independence. We are also focusing on narrative writing and crafting true stories.
In math, we are studying place value. We’re climbing all the way up to the hundred thousands place as we learn about the standard, expanded, and word form of numbers.
In science, we will be exploring and learning about rocks and minerals. In social studies, we will continue to study state symbols, identify and categorize the six geographic regions of South Carolina, and review how to locate information on maps.
We are looking forward to a great school year!!!
